The Senate reconvened Wednesday afternoon to hear opening arguments from the House’s impeachment managers.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff kicked off the proceedings, diving into a recitation of the facts at the center of the case, specifically President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine. The Democratic managers have a total of 24 hours spread out over three days to present their case, urging senators to vote to remove the president from office. Mr. Trump’s lawyers will then have 24 hours of their own to mount his defense.
